Since many of the pages and the words that will fill this site eventually will provide all the insights you may ever care to learn about me. It would be more fitting as my first words on this blog, to tell you about why I started this or possibly the purpose of it.

I’m not sure yet what will really be in this blog but my dear wife, who for reasons I will never understand, tells me all the time that she loves my writing. Strange, when you consider I have never written anything except a few love letters to her. She has asked me for years to chronicle my life. A task that my wonderful father in law did and likely her inspiration for me. She bought me an empty journal once for Christmas and asked that I at least write short stories in them, to leave behind for our children. That journal is still empty in my office desk. And since I hate writing by hand and find it much better to type, here we are.

In many ways, this blog serves as a love letter to my children. I can’t tell you today if there’s any great wisdom to pass down or profound bits of history I lived through but I hope for them, in the end it’s a good read and maybe some good laughs. And if nothing else, I will eventually get to end this love letter with a salutation saying…I write this for my wife, I write this to my kids and I write this truly, for the Nguyen’s.
